We want to take a moment to celebrate someone truly special in the Revival community –
Amber Selvey. Revival Food & Mood is proud to be working in partnership with Canterbury
Christchurch University as part of their Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring work
placement programme. This programme requires students to complete 70 hours of
professional placement experience, and we’re delighted to share that Amber is now the
second student we are supporting through this pathway here at Revival.
We’re incredibly proud that Amber already volunteers to run a group ‘Together in Grief’ here
at Revival every third Wednesday of the month. Informed by her own lived experience, and
not wanting to feel isolated in her grief, Amber has done something incredibly brave, she has
turned her experience into support for others. Her story was also recently featured on the
BBC, sharing her journey and talking about the bereavement support group she created.
She has built a space where people can come together, feel understood, and share what
they’re going through.
As part of her student placement Amber is now launching something new at Revival…
Monday Mindful Moments – a gentle weekly support group designed to help people reset at
the start of the week. It started on Monday 23rd February, and provides a non-clinical calm
welcoming space where you can take part in simple creative activities, write notes of hope to
anyone who may need it and connect with others. It is an opportunity to slow down, take a
breath, and feel more grounded.
No pressure, no expectations, just a supportive space to pause and take a breath.
Amber brings so much kindness, strength and warmth to Revival, and we’re truly grateful for
everything she offers to the people around her.
If you’re looking for a gentle way to start your week, we’d love to welcome you along.
