Reiki Master

Amber Ferguson

As a Reiki Master I treat the whole person including physical body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, less anxiety, better sleep, overall happiness, self-confidence and better physical health.

Reiki is a Japanese technique based on the 7 energy centres of the body, or chakras, for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that a universal life force energy flows through us all, which causes us to be alive. As a Reiki practitioner I treat the whole person including physical body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, less anxiety, better sleep, overall happiness, self-confidence and better physical health.

Having suffered some trauma throughout my life, I embarked on my healing and wellness journey and found that both energy and emotional blockage healing had a profound effect on my mental health and wellbeing. This lead me to train in reiki therapy and trauma massage therapy, the two modalities that have helped me the most on my journey.

Amber will be offering 1:1 reiki sessions as part of the Mental Health Bank.

Amber spends her days out in nature as a dog walker and is one of the co-founders of the campaign group SOS Whitstable, who fight for a cleaner coastline. She is passionate about helping our mother earth, including all of the humans and animals who live here.

Catherine Hamm Counselling

Catherine Hamm

I work as an Integrative Therapist - Integrative means that I mainly follow a person-centred approach, where the client is the expert of their own story and experience, but I also work with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Gestalt within my practice.

I have been working as a therapist seeing clients one to one, for almost 4 years now, with experience of working with Canterbury Counselling Services, as well as Herne Bay Counselling Services and also privately, in my own practice.  I see clients with possible symptoms or feelings of anxiety, experiences of grief, depression, family troubles and other issues that may affect a person’s day to day life.

In addition, I also work with clients who may have autism, ADHD, bipolar, to name a few, those clients might be looking for answers or an understanding of their feelings.  I work with your ‘felt experience’ and together we look at ways that we can then work towards improving your life, looking at the best strategies for you.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach, as every person is unique and with talking therapy we can chat in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment, to work on getting to the core of what might be troubling you, as you are the expert of what you have been through. I will be offering 1:1 sessions on a regular monthly basis as part of the Revival Mental Health Bank.

If you would like to work with me or to discuss further, please contact me:

Joanna Barnes

I am Joanna and I recently moved to Whitstable from London where I taught Qi Gong and meditation. Qi Gong is an ancient Oriental method of balancing life and energy through exercise.

I am Joanna and I recently moved to Whitstable from London where I taught Qi Gong and meditation. Qi Gong is an ancient Oriental method of balancing life and energy through exercise.

My sessions will be an hour long, starting with a meditation to relax the body and clear the mind, some gentle stretching exercises to warm and loosen up the body. Then some deep abdominal breathing exercises which slow the heart rate and allow the body to become deeply relaxed. Our bodies are then ready to do the Qi Gong exercises themselves.
These are slow gentle movements that combine with deep breathing to bring about feelings of relaxation. Known as ‘internal exercises’, they bring nourishment and vitality to the internal organs of the body.

They can be chair based so they are suitable for any age or ability.
In the sessions I am offering as part of the Mental health bank you will learn how to relax and overcome feelings of anxiety while feeling invigorating from gentle stretching.

Sessions will either be group or 1:1.

Helen is a qualified Solution-Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist based at Evolution Health in Whitstable and a senior lecturer in Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy in Plymouth. Her practice is based in neuroscience and Helen can help individuals change the neural pathways in their brain to alter their habits and find healthier solutions.

Helen’s journey to Hypnotherapy started years earlier in her previous life as an educator. Teaching students in colleges and universities in the UK, US and Western Pacific, Helen often encountered students with significant barriers to learning, whether that be confidence, motivation, exam stress or past trauma and difficulties in daily living. More and more she wanted to help her students become their best selves so that they could learn. Pastoral support was not enough and so she embarked on a counselling qualification. During this period of study, she was exposed to hypnotherapy and decided to switch her focus as the methods, she felt, were producing better and faster results.

Helen offers 1:1 sessions as well as group sessions for relaxation and reframing the mind to focus on a positive future. She can help with anxiety, depression, anger management, unhealthy habits and addictions, phobias, stress relief, sports performance, exam stress, public speaking, fertility, and childbirth. She works with children and adults.

Helen will be offering the following as part of the Mental Health Bank:

Want to feel relaxed? Let go of stress? Come and join me for a group relaxation session where you will learn how to change your thinking and cope better with stress. Lie back and close your eyes and let your mind drift as the music plays and Helen talks about all of the resources you have within you to be your best self.

You can contact Helen via email and for more information you can visit Helen’s website, her profile on Evolution Health and her profile on CPHT.

Revival Food & Mood
DAYS LIKE TODAY make you realise how blessed we are. Unfortunately a staff member needed to dash to A&E to support a family member. We didn’t have any other staff available to cover, so our absolutely phenomenal community stepped in - and we cannot thank them enough for helping to keep the doors open for our groups and chatty Tuesday today. The wonderful Errin 🌸from @gatefieldsounds had our back, stepping into the breach with our fantastic volunteers - notably Sarah🌼 (who worked like a Trojan), and not forgetting Millie who was with us for her work experience- and she certainly did experience work! ⭐️Simply the best of people pulling together to get us through, thank you thank you thank you 🤩 #thebestpeople #community #grateful #blessed #thankyou #whitstable ...
