Revival, East Kent Mind has established the Mental Health Bank for the benefit of the community to improve mental health and wellbeing, provide alternative, complementary pathways to support and recovery and to help address health inequalities. Revival is working in partnership with established local practitioners, each party has their own defined roles and responsibilities.

MHB Roles and responsibilities:
All practitioners have agreed to and signed the Revival organisations Memorandum of Understanding that governs the MHB partnership and outlines the full roles and responsibilities. They will provide an up to date DBS and Public liability certificate.

In summary: Revival will facilitate organisational, promotional, and premises matters, the practitioner is responsible for the client relationship from booking.

By booking and attending MHB sessions, clients are aware of, and agreeing to the following:

T&C’s Client-Practitioner service provision:
Once you book and attend with a practitioner you become their client and work within their own Terms and Conditions, Revival has no influence or liability related to the practitioner-client relationship. Please liaise directly with the practitioner regarding any safety guidance, medical questions or session concerns etc., practitioners will undertake their own assessments and will advise you as to the suitability of their service for your needs, their decisions are final.

The practitioner will organise and arrange follow-up appointments or blocks of appointments as per their own requirements and are at liberty to deal with clients as they would within their own practice/business (to include suitability, length of sessions and number of sessions). Practitioners can choose to structure their sessions in a way that works best for them and their clients, and can be a mix of individual or group work. Practitioners are responsible for, and must abide by, their own risk and safeguarding policies at all times.

Revival has ensured that each practitioner has the necessary certificates to practice effectively within the MHB, covering insurance, T&C’s and a valid DBS certificate for your own safety and reassurance (Revival maintains its own public liability insurance for the building where the sessions are held).

Confidentiality:
Personal or health information will not be shared with any external organisation outside of the Mental Health Bank confidential space, without client permission, unless there is a safeguarding risk. All client records will be maintained under the practitioners usual business/private protocols and will comply with confidentiality/GDPR. You may be asked to complete an online consultation form with your personal information and medical history. Please refer to your practitioners’ own privacy and data protection policies.

For insurance, data handling and liability purposes – by attending this class, clients are agreeing to attend as a client of the practitioner running the session, in the knowledge that the client-practitioner relationship is governed solely by their practitioners own T&C’s to include insurance, data protection and privacy, it is the clients responsibility to read any such T&C’s.

You are happy for the practitioner to contact you directly concerning appointments, cancellations, information to help facilitate the sessions and any other business relating to the MHB and your session (this covers all GDPR liability).

Cancellation policy: 24 hours
If you are unable to attend a booked appointment, please ensure you cancel your ticket on eventbrite, as soon as possible. This shows respect for our practitioners time and will allow someone else to have the chance of booking for this valuable opportunity. The practitioners reserve the right to cancel an appointment if necessary/unavoidable, this will aim to be no later than 24hrs before your appointment. Due to the nature of the MHB booking system it may not be possible to rearrange an immediate appointment, your practitioner will advise directly with you on how to move forward in this regard.

Late arrivals:
It is important that the agreed appointment time and duration is adhered to. We appreciate that sometimes, things happen, and you may arrive a little late or need to leave a bit earlier than planned. This is fine but unfortunately we cannot make up the missed time by overrunning or adding time to subsequent appointments. If you are able to let your practitioner know that you are running late this will avoid a missed session.

Complaints:
If a customer is unsatisfied with their session, they must contact their practitioner directly to resolve, Revival will not intervene in clinical/private client-practitioner issues relating solely to their treatment protocol within the MHB. If the complaint concerns specific MHB functioning and responsibilities any concerns must be directed to the Revival Executive Director at: revival2whitstable@gmail.com.

Disclaimer:
All therapists work self employed, are qualified and hold their own professional and public indemnity insurance for the services they provide.

Revival, East Kent Mind will not be held responsible for the loss or damage to personal items during your time at Revival.

Individual practitioners within the MHB hold the right to refuse any treatment if a client is physically or verbally abusive or demonstrates inappropriate aggressive or sexual behaviour. Such behaviour may result in a total ban from our services and may also result in criminal proceedings.

The MHB provides treatments in a variety of forms but none of these modalities are a substitute for professional medical care. MHB practitioners will not diagnose, prescribe medication or medical treatments of any kind unless they are qualified to do so and will always recommend referral to a GP or other qualified medical specialist or practitioner.
