Thank You to Sue Fewkes, Jan Modell and the Charity Gala Dinner Dance

We were delighted to welcome long-standing community fundraisers Sue Fewkes and Jan Modell to Revival this week, where they presented us with an incredibly generous £1,140 donation raised through their annual Charity Gala Dinner Dance earlier this month.
Held on 1st November, the event brought together more than 150 local people for an evening of celebration, connection, and giving. Year after year, Sue and Jan pour enormous time and energy into creating a brilliant community night out – and each year, the proceeds go on to support charities making a real difference across Whitstable, Tankerton and the wider area.
This year was no exception. The evening was supported by a wide range of local and locally-connected businesses, including Bretts Aggregates, Wheelers Oyster Bar, Ragnar Damp & Timber, D2H, Daily Collagen, Seen Safe, and many others who contributed prizes, sponsorship, and practical support. Their collective generosity ensured the event raised substantial funds to share across multiple good causes.
Revival is very proud to be one of the organisations chosen. Alongside us, donations were made to several brilliant local groups providing vital support in our community: Talk of Tankerton, Far Academy, The Men’s Shed, and New Hope Animal Charity. Being included among such impactful organisations is a privilege we do not take lightly.
It was a pleasure to meet Sue and Jan in person, hear more about the event, and thank them directly for supporting Revival’s Community Mental Health Programme. Their contribution will help us continue delivering free and low-cost wellbeing groups, peer support, outreach, and connections for people who need them most. Community fundraising of this kind plays a genuine role in keeping Revival’s doors open every day.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the gala – organisers, sponsors, guests, and volunteers. Events like this remind us how much strength there is in local people coming together to support one another.
If you are planning a fundraiser, charity event, workplace challenge, raffle, or sponsored activity and would like to support Revival Food & Mood, we would love to hear from you. As a small charity providing essential mental health and wellbeing support in Whitstable and the surrounding area, we rely on community generosity to keep going – and every contribution truly does make a tangible difference.
To discuss fundraising or partnership ideas, please get in touch via our website or by emailing the team directly.
Thank you again to Sue, Jan, and everyone who made the Charity Gala Dinner Dance such a success. Your support helps ensure that Revival can continue providing warmth, connection, and mental health support for our community every day.
