Our Vision
The vision for Revival evolved over many years and was devised in response to often ‘old-fashioned’ ideas and expectations of mental health spaces and approaches.
Revival, Food & Mood was eventually set up as a self-funded social enterprise by Mind in Bexley and East Kent in 2016, with the first Whitstable cafe hub opening in the summer of 2017, run as a community café and mental health hub for families, young people and adults. An innovative model premised on access for all in a purposefully visible, accessible, central High Street location supporting our community’s wellness journey with an emphasis on prevention and proactive self-care, providing informal support and information as well as facilitated peer support and mentoring, workshops, talks & discussion groups, wellness activities, referral pathways, signposting and space for the community to meet, upskill, train, volunteer and work.
We believe good food and services have the power to enhance our communities and transform our everyday lives.

✨JOB OPPORTUNITY ✨We’re looking for:A driven, proactive and reliable cafe/kitchen Supervisor who thrives in a fast paced environment and is happy to jump in and take the lead.You will be joining a small team where everyone works together across all areas from prep to Front of house service - training is given but experience is necessary as you will be starting in a supervisory position. Duties include:😌Delivering a warm, welcoming, attentive service and staying organised, calm and efficient during busy periods ☕️Preparing consistently great coffee, and speciality hot and cold drinks ✅Using the till and processing orders accurately🥙Making and serving toasties, and other café food🧼Helping with washing up, cleaning and open and close procedures.Hours:• Part-time 16-20 hours per week• Early and some later shifts• Availability required across the week, especially weekends.18+ due to responsibilities. For someone facing grief or struggling with their mental health, support close to home.This is why Revival exists: to make mental health support accessible, build resilience and help people feel they belong.In 2025, we recorded 2,121 core programme attendances, including 206 Mental Health Bank appointments. Behind those figures are local people finding friendship, support and ways to cope.Day in, day out, our team and volunteers deliver support groups, one-to-one wellbeing support and our Mental Health Bank, filling gaps in services while putting prevention and resilience at the heart of our work - helping build stronger, more connected communities where people feel supported.We receive direct referrals from GPs, social services and other local providers, and host information and support sessions with visiting professionals. Through partnerships with local organisations and strong local networks, we’re improving outcomes for local residents.We’re proud of what we achieve together.
