A Gift of Community Support: Thank You to Memoria Faversham & Mid Kent Memorial Park & Crematorium

Last week we visited Memoria Faversham & Mid Kent Memorial Park & Crematorium to present their team with a Gold Revival Champions Certificate and to thank them for an incredibly generous £5,000 donation to support Revival’s Community Mental Health Programme. Their kindness – and the way they welcomed us – reflects exactly what community partnership should look like.

During our visit, we met members of their dedicated team, toured the beautiful and peaceful grounds, and learned more about the work they do to support local people at one of the hardest moments in life. The cheque presentation was a highlight, but the most meaningful part was hearing how committed the team are to compassion, dignity and ongoing care.

About Memoria Faversham & Mid Kent

Memoria Faversham & Mid Kent Memorial Park & Crematorium opened in July 2023 with a clear mission: to serve the community with care, respect and compassion. Their team is small but highly skilled and deeply committed to getting every detail right.

Their team includes:

Michelle, Crematorium Manager

Harry, Chapel Attendant & Cremator Operator

Phill, Head of Grounds Maintenance

Sue, Administrator

Michelle and Harry have been there since the very beginning; Phill joined in April 2024 and Sue in July 2025. Together, they offer a consistent, steady presence for families navigating grief.

One of the things that stood out most to us was their commitment to time, privacy, and personalisation. They offer 90-minute time slots, giving families a full hour in the chapel and breathing space before and after the service. This removes pressure, avoids overlapping groups, and ensures people feel held, not rushed.

Their approach is personal: families are encouraged to bring what matters most, music, readings, symbols and rituals that truly reflect their loved one. They support people before, during, and long after the funeral. They also welcome members of the public to visit, ask questions and learn about their choices ahead of time, which many find reassuring.

Why Their Support for Revival Matters

The donation from Memoria Faversham & Mid Kent came through funds raised from the ICCM Recycling of Metals Scheme, and it will have a real, practical impact on people in Whitstable and across East Kent.

The £5,000 will help Revival:

  • maintain free and low-cost mental health support,

  • continue ourpeer-led and trauma-informed groups,

  • strengthen ourMental Health Bank offer,

  • support people who might otherwise fall through the gaps.

Partnerships like this are what enable Revival to keep our doors open, our services running, and our community supported every single day.

A Partnership Rooted in Shared Values

What connects Revival and Memoria Faversham is simple:  a belief that people deserve dignity, compassion and community support, at every stage of life.

We’re deeply grateful to Michelle, Harry, Phill and Sue for choosing to support us, and to Phil especially for nominating Revival as one of their chosen charities.

This donation helps us continue delivering everyday support to local people, and we look forward to working with Memoria Faversham & Mid Kent over the coming year as one of our valued Revival Community Champions.
