We are heartbroken to share that Herbie, the much-loved son of our colleague Tara and volunteer Dean, died this week in tragic circumstances.  Tara and Dean are an integral part of Revival and the beating heart of our community. Tara has been with us for nearly ten years and is far more than a colleague, she is central to who we are. Dean is also a valued and longstanding supporter of Revival, a committed volunteer and advocate for mental health, and together they are deeply woven into the life of our organisation.  Herbie was a charming, funny and deeply kind young man who was known and loved by all at Revival and across the Whitstable community.  He had a natural warmth about him, thoughtful, forgiving and full of empathy for others. He was also hardworking and quietly determined, having been a valued member of the Revival staff team from when we reopened in 2023 up to March this year, he left to work on building a future for himself learning carpentry and construction skills, something he was genuinely proud of.He was surrounded by love. Herbie had a close and enduring circle of friends who had been part of his life since childhood, and a family who supported him completely, sharing his hopes, his plans and everyday life with him. He was never alone, and he was deeply valued by those around him. This has been a devastating and shocking loss for everyone who knew him. It is important to say that this was not the result of a long-term struggle, but a sudden and tragic set of circumstances. Those closest to Herbie knew him as someone who was connected, supported and very much part of a loving community. Our focus now is on supporting Tara, Dean, their family through this unimaginable time. They are part of the Revival family, and we will continue to stand alongside them with care, respect and compassion. We ask that their privacy is respected.Revival will remain closed to support our staff and volunteers, until Thursday 30th April. Thank you for your understanding. Deborah HaylettRevival Executive Director ... See MoreSee Less
