our café & mental health hub

Help Revival

stay on the High Street

for only £10 a year

As you may know, Revival received a termination notice and is being forced to leave its current central location. The overwhelming response we received from the whole community made us realise how much our work, support and wellbeing café hub was valued and needed.

Now we need your help.

The Revival Café has the dual role of being a wellbeing hub and the main source of income that allows us to provide our wellbeing and mental help support and initiatives. With High Street rents prohibitive if we have any chance of viability we need the community to invest in Revival to help us to relocate.

We are asking if you can donate £10 a year.
That's around 83p a month.

All donations are processed via PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account, click the grey Pay by Debit or Credit Card button on the screen that appears after you press Donate Now above.

    * The RPM (Revival Proud Member) Agreement relates to email contact with RPM updates, special offers and Revival news. We send our emails via MailChimp so if you didn't want these updates you can unsubscribe when you receive your welcome email.

We understand this may not be affordable to everyone but if those who so kindly signed the petition donated this amount, you will help ensure Revival and its wellbeing café hub, remains on the High Street as a visible, viable and sustainable presence raising mental health awareness, challenging stigma, developing mental health and wellbeing support and initiatives.

We can continue providing an Employment Support Programme for those with mild to moderate mental health issues and are at a sufficient stage in their recovery to be able to engage, support others and to return to, or maintain employment.

We will also be able to develop and maintain our partnership working to continue our mental health outreach delivering food and support to vulnerable and isolated local residents in mental health need.

If you would prefer to make a one-off donation of any amount, please use the button below.

The first 4,000 people who donate this amount will become RPMs - Revival Proud Members - and have their names as part of an art installation within Revival’s new premises, in the form of a vinyl record.

As Proud Members, you will have invested in a community wellbeing space for all, ensuring that year on year Revival remains viable, actively supporting local residents in mental health need - and working as part of a large local network of mental health and wellbeing support organisations, charities, groups and individuals.

Any money received that takes us over the basic costs to keep Revival services on the High Street will be used to directly support our partnership with Food Friends, delivering food and support to local residents in mental health need. It will also be used to develop and maintain the Revival peer mentoring programme providing 1:1 goal orientated support helping people to move forward and build on their achievements giving them the confidence to set new goals to work towards. Peer mentors use their own experience to inform the mentor-mentee relationship and ensures they can work together with understanding and empathy. Full training is provided for mentor volunteers.

    Thank you!

Welcome to Revival where mental health and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, woven throughout all our services both in the cafés and specific services that are being developed for our East Kent Mind’s mental health hub in Ramsgate.

This website is currently under development and will become the central point for Café Revival a multi-functioning social enterprise cafe in Whitstable, Ramsgate and Bexley offering Mental Health service provisions under Mind in Bexley and East Kent Mind.

    Music is Medicine
    for the Mind

Revival is an integral part of me, who I am, what I love and what I do. I helped set this fantastic initiative up based on my own deep love of music as a therapy for my own mental health struggles and my recovery journey which have been well documented.

Music is a universal language within which we can all find our voice, we can connect, resonate and feel sad or uplifted. Music opens up our imagination to different possibilities, allowing us to escape to other continents, cultures and moments in time. Throughout my mental health journey music has been a loyal friend allowing me to lose myself and find myself at the same time. Music was, and is, ‘medicine for my mind’ and it is on this basis that the concept of Revival began.

As an ‘expert by experience’ all I longed for and wanted was a vibrant welcoming inclusive space surrounded by kindness and music that would help with my recovery. Sadly, no such place existed. So as the CEO of Mind in Bexley and East Kent I went about setting one up.

My vision was for more than a ‘mental health’ café, all spaces should be mental health spaces and a café was a perfect partner, providing space for social interaction, informal support, good food and a good footfall audience for raising mental health awareness and challenging stigma.

I wanted to normalise mental health and create a welcoming thriving energetic bright space where it was okay to talk about mental health at the same time as spinning a record on the decks. The decks at Revival have been a real focal and talking point and is often the start of mental health conversations, we have also been able to hold DJ nights and bring people together for dance events.

Music is most definitely a key part of Revival and we look forward to sharing our vision with you when you next visit, we also welcome your musical favourites and will happily play your own records for you when you do.
